Hello

I intend to apply for a single entry, non-immigrant 'O' visa based on a Thai Child from the Thai consulate in Penang at the end of this month. However, the website says:

"In most cases, the visas can be collected on the third working day after the submission date from 15.00 to 16.00 hrs."

Is it really 3 days?

Obviously, if it is, I'll go elsewhere but I'd rather do Penang than Savannakhet. Also, I've heard too many horror stories about officials springing unexpected requirements on applicants at the last minute; with this in mind, are there any new financial requirements that I need to be aware of?

Hi everyone, I tried the search but not conclusive. I have been in Vietnam for 3 months now and would like to get a 60 day visa for Thailand (again). Whats the best and fastest way? Vientiane, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh? And what are the differences? I checked HCMC and cant find a list or what I need or how long it takes, only that 2 weeks before travel is recommended and then it takes 2 days. Thank you for any info!

Dear members,

I am a bit confused by my visa situation and seeking your kind help, sorry if it has been asked before, but I searched and didn't find the answer...

I am currently holding a non-immigrant ED visa from Bangkok immigration office (thai language study). I have recently been offered a position by a company in Bangkok, therefore I would like to change my visa to non-immigrant B to start working in May.

My questions:

(i) the company is telling me that I should fly to Singapore to apply at the Thai Embassy there in order to get the non-immigrant B visa. Can you confirm that it is possible to apply in Singapore as a simple tourist? As I am a French citizen I was thinking that only the Thai embassy in France could do it.

(ii) about the cancellation of the ED visa, I was told that I/the school should officially submit a cancellation request at the immigration office. But since it's a single entry visa, why can't I just fly out as I understood that it would cancel it automatically? Does anyone has experience about that point ?

Thank you so much for your help

I have a non o visa and want to spend some time in another country. How long can I stay out of Thailand, using a re-entry permit, without losing my visa status?

Questions about Non o dependant visa🙏 marriage certificate translation & apostille.

hello everyone, I know apostille is not officially accepted in thailand, i searched online and in this group, and could not find too much information. However my lawyer suggested me to get apostille for our French marriage certificate .

my exact questions are,

1,do we need to translate our marriage certificate to Thai before to get the apostille stamp? as thailand is not a partner, would a translation into english be useful in anyway?

2,do we need to do legalization after we get apostille?

3,Or is it easier to translate through a notary in thailand is much easier? As I will first arrive by tourist visa and convert from there.

Thank you in advance ! wish to hear your experiences about this matter.❤️

These are a couple of updates on the marriage based extension here in Phuket, done myself yesterday, April 2024.

1. The updated Koror 2 marriage doc is now 60 days old max. It used to be 180 days.

2. The GPS coordinates are now required on the hand drawn map (that shows how to get from the IO to your residence).

3. In addition to the spouse, the rest of the dependents (if any) now need to be in all the photos.

4. The IO objected to printed passport pages from a scanned file. Wanted actual sharp photocopies, even if B/W. Portrait orientation, not landscape.

Arrived at 8:30 AM, left at 3:00 PM with the under 30 consideration stamp. Seemed to be a tad easier than the previous extensions. No questions as to how the 400k arrived at the bank, a little over 2 months ago. No dreaded income questions, tax questions, or other scary stuff. Check with your local IO office, as the above was for Phuket. Good luck!
