Hello everyone, traveling today first time to thailand today with my gf. We planned a trip around SE asia, but just booked the flight to bangkok, our 6 first nights and also booked this morning a flight after 55 days in thailand to vietnam.
I already searched on the page but didn’t find answers to my question, so i apologize if it’s like a common question.
I’m french so I have visa exemption.
Can we have some problems with the airline company before checking-in or with the border control ?
And if we plan to travel to border country from thailand during my stay, can I renter easily in thailand ?
Thanks a lot for your answers ✨

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a French passport holder, you will receive a 60-day visa exemption upon arrival in Thailand. Since you have already booked your flight to Vietnam before this period ends, you should encounter no issues with your airline or upon entering Thailand. If asked by the airline, simply show your flight booking to Vietnam. After visiting Vietnam, if you return to Thailand, you can enter again under the same visa exemption for another 60 days, but ensure you have onward travel documentation, as it may be requested.
With a French passport (you and your girlfriend) will get a 60 day visa exemption when you arrive in bangkok. Because you have booked a flight out of thailand within the 60 days to Vietnam then you should have no problems with your airline or in entering thailand. If the airline ask just show them your booking to Vietnam this should satisfy them. If you wish to come back to Thailand after your visit to Vietnam then you will get stamped in again on a visa exemption for 60 days ( your flight from Vietnam may want to see a flight or travel onwards from thailand within the 60 day visa exemption in the same way you have done in entering into thailand the first time
