Just extended my driver license on the DTV visa. Was looking good for the 5 year licence, I paid for it. But when I had to take a picture the teller checked the documents again and saw my visa stamp. I had to get a refund and pay for the 2 year licence. So officially only 2 year on the DTV? Maybe you can get lucky and get 5 year.

1.it is valid for 5 years

2.ill need to show a proof of income from abroad

3.Go out every 180 days

4.Can i come straight back in or is there a cooling period?

I am facing following situation: I have been on a retirement visa for a few years but want to change it as I will only be in Thailand for a few months per year. I have tried to get the DTV visa which has not yet been approved.

Now I am planning to leave on Jan 8, 2025 and come back 2 days later on a tourist visa which will hopefully grant me a 60 days stay. I am planning then to extent for another 30 days.

I am leaving for Germany around the 28th March but had planned to go to Japan within this 30 days extension time (around 15-25 March).

Or should I not get an extension at all, do a 5 day overstay, pay and come back 10 days on another normal tourist visa before I go to Germany until October.

Is this at all possible?

Has anyone on DTV, left and re-entered the Kingdom yet, and if so, was it as simple as our first entry? (Eg. Quick scan of passport and DTV paperwork, stamped and waved on).

I know it’s supposed to be - but you, this is Thailand.

Applied for DTV visa in Jakarta December 13th, on 13th went to pending approval. ( had all documents in order etc ) Still nothing. Hopefully gets approved soon 🔜 how long did it take for you guys if you did it in Jakarta ( E visa )?

I have a few questions about my specific situation, and I’d really appreciate your insights:

1. About my work situation:

I’m a social media specialist, content creator, and graphic designer, and I’d like to work on my projects in Thailand with my family. I currently have two contracts with companies in Switzerland, providing me with a monthly salary, and I can work remotely from anywhere.

In addition, I own a Swiss-based LLC (Sàrl) and plan to develop an online e-commerce project next year.

• Do you think it’s better to include my two employment contracts in my DTV application, or should I draft a remote work contract with my own company? Which option would be more suitable?

2. About my family (partner and child):

My son is 3 years old, and I’d like to know how the DTV application process works for family members.

• Should I apply for their visas at the same time as mine, or should I wait until my own DTV is approved?

• I also have a question about the financial requirements for dependents: Does my child need to meet the 500,000 THB bank balance requirement individually, or is this amount simply added to my own financial proof or he don't need 500,000 THB ?
