Just extended my driver license on the DTV visa. Was looking good for the 5 year licence, I paid for it. But when I had to take a picture the teller checked the documents again and saw my visa stamp. I had to get a refund and pay for the 2 year licence. So officially only 2 year on the DTV? Maybe you can get lucky and get 5 year.

I arrived in Thailand on NON O 90 day retirement visa yesterday. Today i went to AIS for phone and wifi service. They told me they don’t offer long term package including locally priced phone plans and wifi, Non O doesn’t qualify. I also need something else — like a Thailand Drivers Licence. Not even planning on getting a vehicle. Is there an easier way? I hv passport + Non O and will have lease shortly. How else can I do this?

Hi, I am going to be moving to a townhouse (in chiang mai) owned by an individual owner, instead of my usual large condo complex. The condo always files a full tm30 every time i return in the country. The broker/agent said that this is not necessary, and that the owner is responsible for the first tm30 filing, and then i will simply need to update my white receipt slip every time I come back in the country, and that there would be no more involvement from the owner.

I'm posting because that seems like it might be different from what I have read on these groups. I thought the owner had to file a whole new tm30 on every return. I would like to hear your opinion if that is an adequate process (just updating the slip) to keep immigration happy so I can still get my Res Certs and Drivers Licenses.

Thanks!
