Typical Thailand Immigration.

Can't do a DTV 90 day report at Chamchuri Square, Bangkok with a DTV visa. Told have to travel 20 km (1.5 hr) to Lak Si.

Waste of time, shame the information isn't clearer or even remotely visible considering a large percentage of people with DTV aren't even aware a 90 day report is required. I would have imagined the Immigration bureau would ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to advise recipients of such visas to be aware of such a requirement if it's really that important.

For such a straightforward process, it seems to be incredibly inconvenient.

Hey,

I’m from the UK currently in Thailand. I’ll go to Hanoi soon to apply for my DTV as a freelancer.

I’m registered as a sole trader in the UK, I have clients signed into contracts, I have a website, portfolio, invoices for the best 4 years if they need.

I’ve been paying tax ever since going freelance, however for the 23/24 tax year I was approved tax-exempt due to me not being in the UK at all that tax year.

Does anyone know if that will cause me an issue with the DTV? I have proof of paying the previous tax years and a letter from HMRC approving my tax-exempt for the last tax year.

On the DTV application the point of entry question I put entry is BKK, but my Muay Thai gym is in 8 hrs away closer to CNX Chiang Mai- would that be a problem? the paper that's given to you. Does it show which airport , as I would like to explore Bangkok first Area.

I appreciate your knowledge.

Just curious has anyone had to provide a background check during their DTV process? Or does anyone have any evidence that the process somehow included the Thai immigration pulling a background check on you? Lastly, does anyone know of a person who was denied the DTV because of a spotty background? If so, just how strict are they?

Thank you

Got my DTV from Vietnam after coming back to Thailand. Has anyone succeeded in activating it on a visa run to Laos or Cambodia (land borders)?

Or should I go back to Vietnam for the activation?

I am scared they would leave me out while my family is in Thailand becausd I didn't wait in Vietnam for the visa to be approved.

Thanks

I’m aware of the Pros, but what are some on the Cons people have experienced with the DTV?

Hello everyone,

I am currently out of Thailand to apply for the DTV.

I should be approved, and I will return to Thailand right after. The thing is that my Work permit is ending on the 11th of January, and my NON-B on the 15th

Is it okay if I return to Thailand on two visas simultaneously? I am planning to cancel my NON-B right when I get in, but I am concerned the immigration officer is going to give me trouble.

Has anyone had the same situation?

Thank you!

Hi guys, random but how old do the bank statements have to be relative to your date of application? Are 2-week old bank statements okay? I'm planning to apply in Taipei by the way. Thanks!!

Hello wonderful community

I've seen a lot of mention of passport privilege / the passport you have being a significant factor in success when it comes to applying for a DTV?

Which passports are considered 'privileged' in this process and which passports may face more difficulty in the application process?

Are there any other aspects which may result in 'privilege' in this process, such as including as including a cover letter on your educational attainment level and career background.

It seems somewhat unjust, however being able to understand what you can present to increase your 'brownie points' in the eyes of Thai Immigration would be highly useful.

Also - if there are things the Embassy view as red flags or reasons to reject you.

Thank you for the support once again and this wonderful community. The advice has been invaluable ♥️
