TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around concerns regarding the potential consequences of applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand, particularly regarding being banned from entry due to discrepancies or false information in the application. Various comments highlight personal experiences, the importance of honesty in visa applications, risks associated with working remotely on a tourist visa, and specific cases of application rejection due to incorrect personal information.

Your visa application has been rejected. Wrong personal info: Country of Passport and Nationality do not match

I have a French passport and renewed my passport in my french embassy in Mauritius

What's wrong ? They just want to take my money : I paid 300 EUROS

But what a shame !! šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

The one I am waiting for is someone arrested for working IN Thailand on a DTV. I predict 1) Tour Guide or 2) Property Agent 3) Massage or wellness instructor to be favourite.

I wasn't banned and I didn't apply yet. I was in Thailand for a couple of months with a tourist visa working remotely with the employer from my country, and was wondering if once they get the payslips they might cross it with my stay with a tourist visa and getting paid risking for a ban. I know many said it's not an issue but I wanted to double check to be certain.

Anonymous participant You think too much. This is Thailand.

Anonymous participant I really doubt anyone is going to be cross checking in any depth or at all.

Anonymous participant Remember MFA are processing your application and not immigration. Do they even have access to the same information in their systems?

Thailand is massively corrupt, show them the money.

What did "your friend" do?

They will deny the visa if it that bad

if you read the Terms and Conditions it's actually says if you provide false documents you might get banned for life ,, so if you are not eligible for DTV then don't risk it by submitting false information just apply for TR60 visa every 6 months ,, always be honest , don't lie and keep white records in all your favorite countries

I'd imagine those most at risk would be the ones who used an agent or a VPN while in Thailand. Especially if they were in Thailand a long time before they got a visa which can't be applied for inside Thailand.

The agent could be a risk if asked to prove everything again. Some "Retirees" became pretty much tied to one agent and one immigration office with the money deposit scheme.

What happened? Did you actually get banned?

No, read my comment I posted.

If you can lie or give false information then you can assume the consequences. Simple

yes I was thinking about a blatant and obvious lie.

Fraud? Iā€™m sure. Would they tell us. Most unlikely.

I doubt anyone would come to post on this forum if it happens. There is always a risk of being caught after obtaining any visa if you don't fulfill its requirements. It's not an immunity you're receiving. šŸ«¤ If you are talking about being denied during application, yes it happened.
