Hello Guys me and my Girlfriend hold DTV visa and we are Ethiopian passport holders. We are in Thailand currently and I wanted to take my Girl firend to switzerland and wanted to sumbit our files here VFS while we are in Thailand.

My concern is does holding DTV visa make me elegiable to apply? Would they accpect my application? Or they only accpect Thai citizen only?

Yes, print out your visa upon the first time entering the country with it. My customs agent was having a bad day and was abrupt and demanded it. He saw it, stamped my passport and I was out of there. I wouldnt want to engage with back and forth to explain in the system....

Has anyone applied from Okinawa? Can you please share about the experience? Any issues?

Are they asking for proof of employment with the soft power activities? Or should I put unemployed? Will that affect anything or do I need to be employed even with 500k baht?

Is there anywhere else other other that Vietnam to get the visa quickly?

Finally got my DTV approved. Here's how my process went:

Applied at the US Washington Embassy under the Workation Category

- Applied at the end of December

- After 2 days, I received a request for more docs, which were Employment Verification and Location. I provided all of those.

- After a few days, I received a request for payment slips. I provided my deposit slips from clients.

- After a few days, I received a request for my actual IRS tax filing.

All in all, it took 1 whole month from submission to getting approved. I've read some people getting it a lot sooner (few days). But I would budget at least 1 month.

Also, be ready to provide a ton of documents like tax filings, payment slips and anything related to your client work. Its totally normal for them to reach out several times during the process requesting additional documents.

I tried my level best but it will take months of time and also they are not accepting my Indian driving licence as it is partially damaged.
