TLDR : Answer Summary
The question raised about the viability of border bounce or visa run options for Indians in Thailand received mixed responses. Various community members suggested that immigration policies might not favor border runs for certain visas such as the DTV, and some pointed out potential biases from agents based on nationality. There are differing opinions regarding the role of nationality in immigration decisions, with some suggesting that luck and the specific immigration officer can play a significant role. Recommendations included considering agents who are knowledgeable about Indian nationals in Thailand.

I have a strong feeling the OP is not talking about a DTV. I suspect he is talking about a regular visa exempt entry, or an actual tourist visa.

Immigration doesn't want DTVs doing border runs, just as much as they don't want to see tourist exemptions being used for the same purpose (without being able to milk it). There are more and more hints that immigration just doesn't like the DTV. I doubt it has anything to do with your nationality; they just don't benefit from the DTV at all.

Anonymous participant 855 keep it to Thailand visa bruh

Anonymous participant 855 you have literally no idea what immigration wants or likes. You are just expressing an opinion. Until immigration make an announcement that border runs are not allowed on the DTV (which is highly unlikely) then people that have a DTV can do a border run.

We do agree. Likely or unlikely events are opinions.

You can fly from Bangkok to Vietnam for 2000 BHT if you plan ahead and book early. Spend the night

I don't the answer for sure, but I don't see how a nationality could affect it. That being said, it could come down to how the immigration officer feels on the day. Also, the agent who said that could be talking rubbish / being racist etc

Agents don't like the DTV. They'll tell you anything

Yeah, not an option unless you pay those "agents". Agents always have your best interests in mind /s

Some agents do not want to deal with certain nationalities and some do not even want to deal with the DTV for a border bounce. Now if they have specific information from the borders they tend to use then it will be true. Is there not an Indian guy runs and agency in Bangkok? He should know
