What a scam , you pay insurance for them to keep and benefit from your money , WTF , people don't be so stupid, what exactly are you supposed to be insured from and what is being protected ?
I can speak Thai but I must admit 95% of foreigners including my friends cannot speak Thai , it was something that was very Important for me when I first moved to Thailand. In my experience I have found many "not all" foreigners have a sense of superiority and just can't be bothered learning Thai.
Always be skeptical, but life can be hard and in times of covid especially in Thailand with a government that has no regards for taking care of its people she could could genuinely need money ..But a few questions you need to know .
Why does she ask you and not friends and family?
Is she educated?
Where is she and her family from ?
Did you meet her in a bar or club where many freelancers go ? And if so, this is the biggest problem .
In most cases a good Thai girl will never ask for money , my partner has never asked me for money in 6years .
15years in Thailand and I have never met a Thai who doesn't love pork ,somtum boophalaa (papaya salad with raw crabs in it ) rice and sticky rice, Tom yum goong (with prawns ) mama noodles and padkrapow gai ( basil cbicken) ... vegetarians hell no! seems Thai's are way to smart for that nonsense and they literally have fish sauce in everything ..
These are always silly questions. It depends on the standard of living .If you live like the standard of average Thai then $300 to $600 per month is fine but if you want to live the standard of a middle class westerner then around 2.5k to 3k a month and a more luxurious life 4k to 5k plus .There no right amount and live the best with what you have , 2k is comfortable for many .
