What are the cheapest ways to transfer large sums of money to a Thai bank account?

Revolut, it hits the account in minutes (Bangkok Bank), I also have wise, but find Revolut better, good luck.

Is it worth getting an agent to manage my Thai visa requirements if I have 800,000 Baht but don't want to tie it up in a bank?

It’s hard to get off the agent wheel once on it, what you would need to do IMO (please correct me if I’m wrong)..

Fly out, deposit the 800k in your Thai account, fly back in on a 60 day TR (cancelling the extension of stay), then apply for a new extension of stay “O”

If anyone has other ideas/solutions, I would welcome their ideas.

If you are coming to Thailand first, look at the AIS network sim, as you can then buy a ontop-roaming package for the other countries, not expensive, and you keep the same number/sim throughout

once you receive the “onward ticket”, use it to go onto the official website, ie Qatar Airways was my ticket, input booking ref num-surname etc and email the actual itinerary to yourself with the airline logo on it 😉
