Just received an email giving me an appointment to have a first jab at BNH hospital. Just wondering if any of you have been, and if so, what type of vaccine you were offered, and was there a charge. Also was there a lot of people all crowded together.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Expats receiving their COVID-19 vaccines at BNH Hospital in Bangkok report that the type of vaccine administered varies based on availability. Common options include AstraZeneca, Sinovac, and Pfizer. Most individuals indicated that the vaccine is provided at no charge if it is government supplied, and vaccinations are organized to avoid crowding, with reports of around 200 people being present. It's advised to register in advance for the vaccine through expat services like expatvac.

I registered on expatvac and got my first Pfizer vaccination today at BNH with the next Pfizer vaccination scheduled in 3 weeks. Not overcrowded. Perhaps two hundred people there. Very well organized. No charge

According to Dr John Campbell if the time between vaccinations is short, eg like Israel, then the efficiency of the vaccine decreases more quickly - their infection rate is increasing despite most people having 2 Pfizer jabs.

expats over 75 will never see shots. Hospitals have more excuses than corrupt cops

If I was in Thailand I would pay a few thousand baht to be vaccinated with an effective vaccine.

Appears you're not, otherwise you'd know there is none avail to chose from. Occassionally a few hundred show up, word goes out...gone.

The Pfizer from US ( not many ) into corruption black hole.

Moderna is about 4000 bt, but that just buys you a place in line, up to 6 months or a year. Unless you lose your receipt.

Thru Chiangmai Wall, or US Consul.

We're all on lists for months, but all sites shut down after they register you.

When I went they were allowing people to pick between astra and sinovax, at that time Pfizer wasn't in the country like it is now so you might get to pick from one of those 3.

It's FREE, and they do a really good job of spacing people out, keep everyone separated and it goes pretty smoothly

There shouldn't be a charge if it's a government provided vaccine.

As far as which shot, all of their sites basically say you are at the whim of supply, but I believe they are trying to offer foreigners more choice than Thais. Worst case scenario if you receive Sinovac, you will get an Astrazenecca 2nd dose 4 weeks after.

If you receive Astrazenecca first dose, it will be 12 weeks until your 2nd dose.

I'm not sure what they are doing with Pfizer, but one of these 3 will be what you recieve.

expatvac was set up to distribute the 10% of thd 1.5 million doses of pfizer just donated bh the US. Another million doses of pfizer just arrived this past Saturday from the US. No word yet if any percentage of those doses will be shared with expats. This was all xetailed in many news articles.

by saying I'm not sure what they are doing with Pfizer I meant I don't know how long they are spacing out doses and if they are doing double doses of Pfizer or mixing vaccines.
