TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, hiring a taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya is currently possible. There are no travel restrictions between the two cities, but travelers should be aware of curfews in Bangkok that prevent travel between 9 pm and 4 am. Various apps like Lineman and Bolt offer services for this trip, typically costing between 1000 to 1300 THB. However, drivers may refuse long-distance rides, so it's advisable to confirm with them beforehand. Some users also recommend private drivers for potentially lower rates.

I do not think so. It would be very risky if you get caught at a police checkpoint and may have to pay for a huge fine. I would wait for the next day, early in the morning.

I'd be careful. Sometimes the Bolt drivers are eager to take any ride, but they actually don't want to make the entire trip.

usually i paid 1200-1300 with bolt (and i use to give 1500), always perfect experiences, never faced any single problem. fully suggested. the only problem is to know if interprovincial trips are allowed or not at the moment (no idea coz i’m not in thailand now, i left coz of the stupid and endless lockdown)…

Yes, just use the Lineman app under the taxi tab for the cheapest price. They must use their meter, keep their taxi clean, and just add a simple bt50 service fee. It's under bt1000 to Pattaya.

Yes, there are no travel restrictions between Bangkok and Pattaya. Only issue is you cannot leave bangkok after curfew. I don't believe Pattaya has a curfew right now.

Garrett - Provinces marked as a dark-red zone are placed under the strictest of restrictions which includes curbs on inter-provincial travel. This is from Thai Govt FB page.

That doesn't make sense though, Bangkok is a "maximum control zone" but the BTS, MRT, day trains, and public buses are still running.

Interesting, that's surprising actually. I thought the curfew was mostly to curtail the protests in bkk.
