 my work permit was expired already long before i have a work, and right now i have all the documents as proof that my company is hiring me and will process my work permit but don't have enough time, should i tell my employer to talk with the immigration Or is there another way?

 I went to the immigration today, and ask if i can get and extension they say that i need to get a covid Certificate from my embassy and proof that I'm currently hired from the company im working with, i already have the documents as proof. I just need and extension.
