TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has a NON-B visa expiring on March 1 and is seeking advice on whether they can obtain a visa extension while waiting for a work permit from their new employer. The community response indicates that getting a new visa before the expiration is crucial, and if the employer provides necessary documents and applies promptly at the labor office, it may be possible to extend the visa based on the work permit application receipt. However, options are limited and immediate action is essential.

It all depends on your employer. If your employer is competent enough then what he should do is gather all required documents for applying visa and work permit then take you to department of Labour on Monday to submit the application. If labour office accepts the application they will give you a waiting receipt to pick your work permit in about 5 to 7 days. You can use the receipt at immigration as prove that you will get the work permit and they extend your visa as per the employment period indicated in the work permit receipt.

Don't you need the visa before the work permit? There is no short term visa available to you. You either manage to get your non-b by 1st march or leave by 1st march.

should i ask my employer to talk with the immigration to grant me a extension to process my non b? I really don't know how long the process will take and worried because i don't have enough time

I don't think there's an extension available to you. If your employer can get the information required for the non-b by 1st March then that's a possibility but that's a very tight deadline. They should speak to immigration anyway to find out what's required but I fear you have no alternative but to leave and re-enter.

If your new employer provides all documents for work permit and visa you can get an extension.

In my case ,I only need last year P.N.D91 for applying new visa . You need to apply new work permit as the same day when your old work permit cancellation day and need to go to immigration to cancel old visa and wait new visa. That need to be finished one day . I think it’s depend on the new employer good communication.

my work permit was expired already long before i have a work, and right now i have all the documents as proof that my company is hiring me and will process my work permit but don't have enough time, should i tell my employer to talk with the immigration Or is there another way?

Unfortunately, you are out of the option you can do anything in Thailand other than apply new visa/extension and work permit in time. You may need to leave Thailand and come back. Talk with your new employer about the procedure you have to follow.

I understand, Is there a specific person that i cancall and ask about this?

, if immigration said so, unless you provide the concrete proof you need a Covid extension, my answer is the same.

Then that's between you and your new employer. You need to talk with them about the process of hiring you.
