TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster inquires whether they can obtain a tourist visa to re-enter Thailand after their non-B visa, with a COVID-19 extension, expires. Respondents suggest applying for a tourist visa outside Thailand initially, or ideally securing a 90-day Non-B visa from a Thai consulate abroad before re-entering to ease the transition back to working status.

Thank you so much for the advice ๐Ÿ™, my employer said that i need to go out and get a tourist visa because the documents for for non-b is not complete yet so needs more time, and if i get tourist i can still extend my stay up to 90 days?

if that's what your employer is saying you should do then that's what you need to do. GO to a nearby country and apply for a single entry tourist visa, then come back to get 60 days and if you need it take the 30 day extension for 1900baht

so you didn't go get a tourist visa like your employer asked you to?

Depending on your nationality you usually can extend a 30 day entry stamp by 30 more days for 1900baht. What country is your passport from

i did, i did do what they said. I crossed the border in cambodia. I'm from PHL and i think i only get 30days visa on arrival.

you don't get a visa on arrival and you don't get a tourist visa at the border,

I thought they told you to go BUY a tourist visa at the thai consulate in Phnom Penh or another country so you'd get stamped in for 60 days ๐Ÿ˜•

Be that as it may you got a 30 day visa exempt stamp (NOT a visa on arrival)

and

you can extend that ONE time for 30 days at the immigration office for 1900baht

you can get a 60 day tv extendable for 30 days giving a total of 90 days. Employment is prohibited on this visa. As an aside, the documents shouldn't take more than a few hours to put together. I would challenge your employer about this.

It would be far easier for both you and your company to obtain the 90 day non B visa outside Thailand, then applying for the one year extension based on employment. Even with a WP, you can not work if you enter on a tourist visa until the non B has been granted.

You go to a thai consulate in another country and apply a tourist visa, then come back and apply for the in country 90 day Non-B visa

OR

You get the documents from your employer and go to a thai consulate in another country and apply for the 90 day Non-B visa there.
