@Rob ********
and the Philippines are about to be the next Ukraine ... Bad enough the country has been occupied by a foreign force for 70+ years ... just like the Hawaiians ... and believe me, there are plenty of Natives that would be more than happy if the Yanks went home.

But you go on spouting your amerikan exceptionalism BS.

#educateyourself ...

Why "taste just one"? I just bounce from country to country using tourist visas or visa exemptions. Easy to fill up a year in SE Asia. And I've reduced my "needs" to a carry-on bag, which makes travel much cheaper ... and easier.

If you "don't know what to expect", then why are you running straight off to Pattaya before exploring so many other amazing cultural destinations? 🤔

sorry for your mishaps, and pleased that you are on the path of helping others in need. Being there is a real eye-opener. The majority of posts on Facebook are about "me" ... not very many ever mention contributing "to" the wonderful people and their country. Not much brings more satisfaction than helping others. 👍🏽

If you want to volunteer in Thailand, that does require a special visa.

nice to see someone actually mention they want to "contribute". Something I don't hear very often. 👍🏽

Never had a problem. One immigration officer told me to use the passport of the country you are going into, if you have one.

If you get a stamp in your passport when you enter, you need to use that passport when you exit, because they need to stamp you out. If you give them a different passport when you exit, there won't be the stamp that gave you permission to enter.

I used an older phone with a sim card that was no longer usable, turned my phone into a hotspot, and connected both my monitor (an older tablet) and wireless camera to that network. (The phone needed a sim card to create a hotspot, even though it had no internet access). An app on the tablet linked the camera and monitor together. My old phone really acted as a router. Unless you need to view your camera remotely, something like that might work for you.
