Others have dragged you in the comments so I won’t.
While not familiar with TH laws on stuff like this specifically I do know in most countries any forms you sign will explain they can do this. And at times it won’t even be something you sign just a random sign you should have read. Depends on local laws how far they have to go.
It is common practice for such photos to be able to be used for advertising.
They own the photo. That is how copyright works.
While there may be laws needing model releases that is about the only restriction that the owner of the copyright has.
So I doubt you could sue as they are likely 100% legal. But even if not it wouldn’t be worth spending money to sue them.
Just like in PH it resets each time you leave. So another 60 days visa free plus you can extend.
But unlike PH you can’t extend for years without leaving and officers will warn or even deny entry if they think you are living in Thailand on visa free entry.
There are ways around that with services but PH is way easier when it comes to immigration rules.
So if you plan to switch to living in TH look into a real visa. But just for vacation trips you will be fine.
Just be aware the longer and more often you stay the harder it is to get in without help from a service.
12 days and then coming in for 60+30 will be fine. But leaving for a day and coming right back after that might have issues. Even leaving for a month and coming back for another 60+30 may. And by the 3rd time in a row (with only smaller times outside of TH) the risk goes up a lot more.
Some do it for years and never have an issue. Others will get a more serious talk by the 2nd or 3rd time in a row. It just is a toss up.
So again don’t treat it like PH and expect to just keep going in and out forever. Get a real visa if you want to stay long term.
Beyond that enjoy a long stay vacation in TH. You should have no issues.
I’m both a bit shocked and not shocked you got stopped like this.
Seems most get ignored if not living in TH full time. Only 6 months a year I’d figure they wouldn’t say anything about. And at worst would just give a warning vs go straight to detention and (until she signed something) denial of entry.
But not shocked because clearly they are back to being strict and 6 months a year on visa free entries is pretty grey area.
Were you truly out for 6 months or more before you came back in Nov?
Do you have any history of staying more than 6 months at a time or in a year?
location of marriage has nothing to do with if a location will allow you to divorce and in general countries recognize the marriages and divorces of each other.
