I have never made a claim. I have a 40,000฿ deductible. I’ve never had a medical bill over 20,000฿. I am getting a 20% no-claims discount. Their customer service has been excellent.
My observations on this subject is that every company has customers with good experiences and others with bad experiences.
Those of us with a pensioner LTR visa pay no taxes in Thailand on money brought into Thailand. After that US citizens are supposed to pay federal taxes in the US. We don’t pay state taxes in the US if we are no longer a tax resident on any state.
When I had a Kasikorn account, all my wire transfers from the US were coded as domestic transfers because the money arrived to Kasikorn through an intermediary Thai bank.
I would typically get to CW at 8:30am. The early birds would enter and then I would get my queue number. I never waited more than an hour to see an officer and I would get my passport and extension an hour later. I was always out before lunch. I just planned to spend the morning there.
I once had a prior appointment and that was great but not necessary.
I had an OA. I was 62 when I bought a policy from Pacific Cross. It is a 10 million baht policy and has a 40,000 baht deductible. I’m paying 78,000 baht per year. I am now 69. I am getting a no claims discount.
Pacific Cross has a nice website where you can choose a plan and get an estimate of the cost.
Pre-existing conditions will be excluded.
What I have is a catastrophic health plan. I pay for routine car myself. The biggest medical bill I’ve ever had is only 20,000 baht. The insurance is for something really serious and expensive.
Whatever you purchase the price is going to depend on your age, coverage amount, deductible, and health status.
