TM 30 question. I did use the search function

I am Rvisiting the US next week for two weeks. I have been living at the same address in Bangkok for 1 1/2 years. I have a Non-Immigrant O-A with a multiple entry stamp good until Nov 20, 2018. Do I have to file a TM 30 with Bangkok Immigration when I return? I will be going to Immigration sometime within the 45 days before my Nov 20 date to extend my stay another year. I recently completed a 90-day checkin. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus among the community is that filing a TM 30 form is not required for expats living in Bangkok, even after traveling abroad. Comments indicate that Bangkok Immigration does not enforce TM 30 forms actively.

Lots of TM 30 questions but different circumstances. I wanted something within the last two years as well

Yeah, no worries about the TM30. You'll just get a blank look in Bangkok

Yes. I agree. Just making sure I have done what I need to do before my first one year extension.

I doubt they will, tbh. There are something in the order of 400,000 foreigners living in Bangkok, if every one of them has to go to Chaengwattana every time they return to the country it's going to be complete chaos. It works in most up-country locations because there are comparatively few foreigners living there (and they don't travel that much). In Bangkok, which has 1 immigration office and so many foreigners, the system will just collapse under its own weight.

Bangkok Immigration does not enforce these tm30 forms.
