Hi. I'm gonna extend my OA visa this week by first time. I got this form in immigration division 1. Is it required to have a guarantor to be able to extend? I don't understand very good what is this form for.

Hello, any advice welcome please.

Currently hold OA visa - originally obtained in Australia and extended multiple times at CW.

Meet all requirements for OA extension eg money & health insurance.

Have multiple re-entry permit.

Visa is due for renewal July 21.

I am leaving Thailand for Europe on June 03 and not returning until approximately October.

My preference is to renew this visa prior to departure- but this may not be possible.

1. How far in advance can I renew this visa?

2. What are my options if I can’t renew in advance?

3. Is it possible to return on a tourist visa and switch to a O.

Many thanks.

Hi... Has anyone done an:

- OA (RETIREMENT) Visa EXTENSION for another 1year

...in KRABI immigration?

If yes, when &, how was the experience?

...& did they charge more than the official 1900 Baht for this extension?

Was paperwork needed as normal, or troublesome?

I've heard this branch is quite corrupt, & asking for 3000 Baht "expedited same-day on-the-spot” extension, or pay the normal fee of 1900 baht, but return in 2 weeks to get the completed extension 🙄

Can anyone advise what value of insurance which is currently required to extend OA visa from within Thailand? ( Chiang Mai).

Does the insurance have to be from an approved Thai list or will an internationally sourced (UK) policy be accepted?

If an international policy is acceptable is their a requirement for the policy to be pre- approved by immigration or subject to any other Gov / Immigration approvals ? TIA.

A heads up for those who will use counter L at Chaeng Wattana over the Christmas period. I extended my OA visa yesterday. All my paperwork was in order, but it still took 6 hours. Maybe that's normal?

Just returned from my annual visit to immigration CW . Although this is my third successful extension on OA , always a stressful experience regardless of having every document you think you need. It amazes me that although I submit the same documents every year they scrutinize as if it’s the first time they’ve ever seen such documents; talking primarily a financial records; I submit by income so a bit more complicated ; interesting that this time I was instructed to sign an information page so that I could have a picture taken with it ; it’s the page that lists the various financial requirements. Anyway thank you for those on the site particularly TD and BH your advice and info is invaluable 🙏

Good morning please can someone enlightened me.

A friend of mine went to days ago to extend his OA visa ,he got in UK.

He showed his proof of money, more than 800000 Baht , in his Thai banc account , the money is there over 3 month. All worked fine until the IO checked the bank book. He denied the extension because my friend doesn't have this bank account not over 1 year. I'm not sure that this is a requirement. He lives in Sisaket but now he thinks maybe to try some other immigration Surin or Ubon.

Was it just made up by the IO ?
