What are my options for the Elite Privilege Access visa and LTR Wealthy Pensioner Visa in Thailand, and do I need an agent for the Elite Visa?

Weighing up options here, looking at an Elite Privilege Access visa or a LTR Wealthy Pensioner Visa(you don’t have to be that wealthy really). Also do you have to use an agent for the Elite Visa? If so any recommendations and rough costings, thanks in advance. Leaving on 6 July BTW. From Oz

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion compares the Elite Privilege Access visa and the LTR Wealthy Pensioner Visa for expats considering relocation to Thailand. Key points include the straightforward application process for both visas, the substantial long-term benefits of the LTR visa, such as tax-free overseas income, and the possibility of applying without an agent. Recommendations for agents and the importance of communication with the BOI for processing applications are also highlighted. Overall, those considering these visas should weigh their individual financial situations and application timelines.

Speak to Brian Ramsden of Lawyer for Expats (Thailand), he will offer you a free consultation, and particularly about the LTR-visa. He and his business partner Pook can also advise in other key legal areas.

It's an absolute no-brainer if you qualify for LTR. 10 years for only 50 k, tax free status, and very easy application process. Prove you have the income, get the visa. If you have a complex income situation, an agent MAY be able to help sort thru it so the BOI can process easily. But consult with BOI first. Thai Privilege is the poor man's version. If you don't qualify for LTR, TP is an excellent visa. Just pay your money and come on in. No need for agent at all.

I qualified for my pensioner LTR with just my work pension. It is easy to do yourself if your finances are simple. You are not going to get it done by 6 July though. It will take at least a month.

yes, definitely. The LTR application doesn't care where you are since the BOI does the processing. And if you're already in Thailand you can pay the exact 50,000 baht to immigration rather than the inflated embassy price. And even better, you'll get a big stamp in your passport rather than having to carry around a printed visa for 10 years.

I was already here on an OA visa. I applied for the LTR while in Thailand. They changed from the OA to LTR here in Thailand. You would have to ask if they can change a tourist entry to an LTR.

LTR costs just 50k for 10 years, and gives you tax free overseas income and capital gains (the only visa with that massive benefit). Happy to recommend an agent if you PM me

Exactly that’s a lot of dough you can use elsewhere then after 3 yrs apply for residency. But hey, if you got a ton of money get after it.

lol, you don't have to spend a penny of it. The visa cost is only 50k baht for 10 years multi-entry. It's the cheapest visa out there. If you can get LTR, no point chasing after residency
