Immigration at Bangkok will only give you a Certificate of Residence to those who have completed at least one 90 day report at their location just so you know. I am not sure if you are in this category or not.
I was there on Thursday September 7th, left a place holder and went downstairs and had a little something to eat and came back up shortly before 08:00 and they had already opened the doors and let everyone in, haha. 😕
I heard the same and also that they have stopped having a separate queue for 90 reporters so you are herded in with all the neighboring country folks doing visa business and it can take hours.
The person that told you is wrong. You need to do the next one 90 days from your last entry on May 9th, and remember to count that day (May 9th) as day number 1.
The Immigration website asks for the registered mail 90 day reports to be mailed 15 days early. This is off of the site. 6.The above mentioned documents must be sent by registered mail and the receipt of the registration kept by the foreigner.
You are lucky then if that is the case. At the US Embassy they charge $50 which is 1,666 baht. At Bangkok Changwattana Immigration office they charge 200 baht. So that figures out to be 8.33 times more at the Embassy than at Immigration.
Actually they will tell you 3 weeks and if you haven't received it to come back, which happened once to me and they gave one to me on the spot when I went back. Another time I received it in 10 days. But yes you are correct, they will want a copy of your last 90 day report or they will not give you one at least If you are talking about getting it at Chaengwattana in Bangkok.
