Thnks. That was what I was going to do, I called UK consulate just now and they said do a 90 day as they often do not grant a one year :-( they said then apply for the one year once there. I have to go to tai embassy in two weeks to renew partners thai passport so will speak with them to confirm. Think I will be ok, just want to make sure I do things right :-) I wont be in Thailand longer than 4 weeks at any one time for at least 4 years due to work. Just need to sort out banks in Hong Kong and Thailand and will be fine lol
