I wired transferred $80,000 USD last year to my Thai bank. I wanted to buy a new car and I needed the 800,000 baht for my extension. I used the SWIFT code to wire it and it was fast and safe. Cost about $25 to do it. Don’t be worried. Just call your home bank with the SWIFT code for your Thai bank and have your Thai bank account number handy and see if they can do that for you. Thai banks are legit.

Delta wouldn’t let me board in the U.S. with a one way ticket until I showed them my long term retirement visa.

So do you not have the 800,000 to put in the bank, or are you just not wanting to?

That wasn’t my experience with Navy Federal. I wire transferred $80,000 USD by SWIFT code to Bangkok Bank while living here. Cost me $25. I got it in 3 days. I just did it by phone.

I went to the Michigan State Police website and they had an option to download my criminal background report for $10 and so I did it and the Chicago Thai embassy accepted it for my OA visa.

Yes, she has called them a few times. She said she would video chat with them and hold up her passport to identify herself and they said it wasn’t good enough.

My wife tried to wire money from Bank of America to her Thai bank, and they said she had to come into a local branch to identify herself or she couldn’t do it. We told them we were in Thailand and couldn’t do that, and they froze her account. She can’t even use her app. We don’t go back to the U.S. for a visit until next year, so she’ll have no access to her money until then.
