Can I travel to Thailand with both my old damaged passport and my new passport if my visa is in the old one?

I traveled with two passports for years because of a visa in the expired one. This is normal practice. However, if the old passport with the visa in it is in rough shape, I would recommend visiting an immigration office of the visa issuing country and have it moved to the new passport. This is generally available in most countries but if your old passport was undamaged, they would probably tell you to just travel with two passports.
