Opening a bank account, should be and is a free service. You will always find people that stand in the way and try to charge you for something you shouldn't be paying for.

I guess someone people have the ability to digest that , but many won't. Do you feel your insurance policy is of any value ,or did you just bin the idea of claiming ? 😎🙏

I opened Bangkok Bank account with tourist visa in Chiang Rai. All that was needed was a letter from immigration office, certificate of residence. If it's any help I can forward the branch details.

You will struggle on Samui ,at least I did. Try a big city , especially as you probably arrived in on first .

You said you were charge 1900 baht for the extension and a extra 100 baht for a photo. Do you mean for the extension? If so I have never heard of being charged extra for a photo , shouldn't it be part of the extension cost ? Or do you mean you had to pay an extra 100 baht to get a photo taken for you to provide with the application ?

Hi, are you aware that if he gets a Non O in Thailand instead of Non O A he doesn't need to provide insurance ? Then he would have his insurance he already has to rely on. There is a requirement for funds in Thai bank though,🙏
