Hello , Anybody able to recommend a health insurance company/ policy they have faith in?

A company that's able to honour there agreement and pays without to many issues?

It's for peace of mind in retirement not for requirements for a visa.

Many thanks . 🙏🙏🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community provided several recommendations for health insurance companies and policies suitable for expats in Thailand seeking insurance for peace of mind during retirement, rather than for visa requirements. Key suggestions included AA Insurance, Pacific Cross, Aetna, AXA, and the Pacificare agent Fern. Members emphasized the importance of choosing insurers that have reliable claims processes, often utilizing third-party administrators (TPAs) to facilitate smooth claim approvals. Some comments highlighted personal experiences with brokers like Arawan Nanak, as well as the need for clear communication with insurers. Overall, the consensus was to seek insurers with a solid reputation and proven efficiency in honoring claims.

Everybody lists their favorite brokers in these posts. But if you’re older, look at how much they pay per hospital day. Often is very low. To collect the amount of the policy, you would have to be in the hospital the whole year. Usually the potential payout is around the same as the annual premium.

Most insurers use a TPA ( third party administrator ) to process claims , direct settlement and guarantee of payment.

Key is finding out which TPA the insurer uses .

To give you an example .

You walk into a hospital , show your card and the hospital would usually contact the TPA and not the insurer.

Choose an insurer which uses tech for claims and you’ll be fine 😉 let me know if you need any help

My experience is that getting your claims approved needs a combination of a decent insurer, plus an experienced salesperson / broker who can guide you what to say / not say to the hospital and insurer
