Very difficult now with agents and lawyers throwing (your) money at the problem - technically only residents can open a Thai bank account, BKK bank used to bend the rules if you spend 5k on an insurance policy.

Nope I have online banking I visit the branch once or twice a year , most important visit is to collect statement and letter for visa renewal which takes 10 mins and B100

SCB Easi Pass pays 2.5% before tax been using it for 3 years - also very user friendly when you need statement and letter for immig there is no passbook and it’s all on line very convenient

that’s the case in Phuket , my TM30 has been in my passport for 5 years now as our address hasn’t changed , never renewed , and done 4 visa renewals in that time or am I missing something here ?
