I've noticed it a bit when I travelled to another province recently. But I've been in the same place since December and everyone knows me there so no problems.

Why not stay in Thailand there's a teacher shortage.

Depends how much they like you and if you smile or not. Not smart to drive without a license though.

ah yes I noticed the same recently as well. It's a surprisingly good time to travel within Thailand no delays and very fast flights taking off and landing ahead of time.

What was surreal?

Unfortunately there's no such thing as "de facto" in Thailand. Many other countries do recognise that if you've lived together for a year despite the incorrect postings by others (Australia for example).

Good luck that's a really hard situation for you right now. I decided to stay in Thailand to avoid the risk of being separated long-term from my Thai family.

Landed there yesterday and had the easiest fastest hassle free flight ever.
