I understand that but the headline wasn’t “crackdown on scammers”. The vast majority of bank accounts owned by foreigners are legitimate.

but how do they expect a new applicant for the Non-O visa for retirement to show the money required to be in a Thai bank? It’s catch 22.
Terry ********
Click bait headline. You “crack down” on crime. There is nothing illegal about a foreigner opening a bank account.

yes, NORD is a VPN but what antivirus app is there for a phone? Is that Surfshark? I’m not familiar with it.

Bangkok bank’s website works just fine. I never use an app for banking. It’s less secure in my opinion. Phones get lost, left behind and stolen all the time. People often use public WiFi with them, which isn’t secure at all.

that’s a Non-OA. It’s different requirements. You have to get a medical certificate, background check and show proof of medical insurance.

The Non-O visa is acquired inside Thailand. If he applied from the USA, he would have a Non-OA visa.

no, it isn’t. You should read your own post again. The Non-O visa is not a “retirement visa”. It can have many different types of extensions.
