I am trying to get a retirement Visa and I am sitting in a bank right now trying to open an account so I can transfer the required funds to Thailand. Immigration in 2 places have now told me I will not have to leave the Kingdom if the borders are not open by the end of the month.

Taken some if the advice on here and consulted an agent in Phuket on the recommendation of a Thai friend who knows the director. They have quoted me

baht for the non O and retirement Visa. Needless to say I have not taken them up on it!

in that you are correct. However, in your previous post you said that the Visa would have expired in January if the chap arrived in November. It was quite possible to obtain Visa extensions until the amnesty took over because I did it.

my advice us to contact the embassy emergency line and ask for options. I know there were loans available from UK govt not long ago but the application process was not easy. The worst thing to do is nothing and hope the problem goes away.
