Only the Admin side is staffed by Thais, just the same as admin at the British Embassy is staffed by Thais and the Thai Embassy in London is admin staffed by Brits. They're not making the decisions as you suggested!

VFS Global aren't a Thai agency. They're a global agency based in Switzerland. They deal with British passports and visas, they carry out the interviews for visas at their Bangkok offices.

Incorrect. You can do as many visa runs per year as you want. What you can only do twice per calander year is enter via a land border WITHOUT a visa!

You cant get a Tourist visa in Thailand. You need to apply at a Thai Embassy/Consulate or via the evisa website.

Actually visas for the UK from Thailand are processed in Bangkok at VFS Global in the Trendy building. Easy to do it there.
