yes, that’s true for a visa with retirement extension which is what I’m guessing you have. But the OP just wants to stay for 2 months as a tourist. That’s pretty simple.
what is there to know? The visa waiver for US citizens hasn’t changed in years, if it ever did. A simple trip to immigration will get him an extension. There are no entry requirements beyond showing proof of vaccination if asked.
It’s very difficult for a Thai woman to get a tourist visa. We’ve tried two times now and my girlfriend was denied twice. She had all the docs necessary to prove she would be going back to Thailand and they refused to even look at them. Useless people who can’t even do their job.
