Not just Thai, but that is an international rule of life. 😏

, yes you are correct, it is 1200 tourists per month. Thank you for the correction. I still am not convinced that is enough.

I am still going to wait until next year before trying to get back to Thailand. It seems like things change daily which is par for the course. I would also think immigration offices will interpret this new visa differently. I will wait a little longer.

Only 1200 visas per year, 2000 baht PER visa (does that include extension or are the two extensions inclusive?), if your wife owns the residence that you stay at, is that acceptable? Still lots of questions that need to be answered before I consider applying for this visa. I am still planning to wait until next year since their may be a vaccine. Things will change again once a vaccine is available. Should be no quaratine and expensive two week stays in government dictated hotels. Will the Thai government accept a vaccine since they are usually not 100% effective?

Which is why I have always come back to get my visa in the US. Very simple process without any confusion or abuse.

I have had Non-Immigrant one year multiple entry visas for the last fifteen years and have always gone back to the US to avoid the disorganization of the Udon Immigration Office. Funny, if they all just followed the directives from BKK and treated people in a decent manner, they would not have to go through any nerve-wracking audits.

This is one of the reasons why I returned to my home country during this god awful epidemic. It seems as though many countries are trying to extract as much foreign money during a time when few regulations are consistent and we are at the mercy of immigration. I decided in March to stay home until 2021 when there might be a chance of having a vaccine and things have calmed down a bit. Sorry for your troubles and I give you credit for trying to wade through all of the red tape involved. Good luck.

, I agree with you and unfortunately my friend did not do his homework as you did. Wouldn't you agree that most businesses started in Thailand do so without a good marketing research plan? I would think that is one of the first things that should occur before financing any business. I have a hard time understanding how the Thais make any money when they have ten other shops selling the same merchandise right next to them. Happy to hear you have been successful.

This site is for giving opinions and personal advice. Since I have lived in Thailand for 15 years, I try to give accurate opinions based on fact and not hearsay. You have no idea of my experience and I doubt you have any experience seeing foreigners trying to start a business. Unless you have seen many instances of this, I would stay out of the conversation unless you have something constructive to say.
