Hello everyone,

I’ve been living in Thailand for a long time using various visas, including multiple tourist visas, a student visa, and for the past four years, I had a work permit for three years while working for a Thai company. After I stopped working there, I switched to a one-year self-defense education visa.

Now, I am a freelancer with a company in my home country. I have sufficient funds to show, with 500k in Wise or my Thai bank account, and I can prove a good lifestyle with Thai bank statements showing around 200k THB per month. I also have a rental contract in my name (30k THB per month).

I would like advice on how best to present my situation to immigration. I want to show that I worked in Thailand for three years, then took an education visa, and now I work as a freelancer with good contracts and income. I can provide client invoices to prove this.

However, I’m aware that working while on an education visa is technically prohibited, so I want to approach this carefully. What would you advise to make my case clear and strong to immigration?

Thank you in advance for your help

"Hello everyone!

I'm reaching out for advice. I entered Thailand on a tourist visa, intending to find employment. However, my visa is expiring soon, and I'm still job-hunting.

Can anyone offer guidance on the best course of action to avoid overstaying?

Visa advice - I have a UK Passport and am travelling to Thailand in June on Visa except . I will be in Thailand for 3 weeks going to Kula lumper for 4 days for an event then returning to Thailand for 4 weeks then heading to Vietnam for 30 to 45 days before retuning to Thailand .

Im then wanting to stay in Thailand for a longer time as im considering retiring there, but want to be really sure before I spend money on a retirement visa .

Should I or can I apply for a tourist visa while in Vietnam to give me a 60 day tourist visa for returning to Thailand ? By which time I should hopefully have an idea if I want to apply for a retirement visa .

I was previously in Thailand in December and loved the country but didn’t find an area I felt I would settle in .

Thanks

Question-I screwed up and let my wife use my bank account debit card after in March I put 400,000 bhat + for my married visa. They kept extending the visa so I didn’t worry. Just not paying attention. Every time it went under 400 I reupped. Now I don’t have 2 continuous months for my September application, no more extensions except, I have the US Embassy letter and can stay until October 26th.

My thought is, go to some low Covid country anywhere in the world then apply to come back into quarantine. Flog myself for being a dumb ass.

Do you think this will work?

On 15th June, my long term extension based on employment expired.

Normally to extend this, one of the requirements is to show the previous 3 months' social fund payments for 4 Thai staff.

We paid the last social fund money for March. After this all our staff were furloughed under the government scheme, as my business was forced to close due to Covid.

So no social fund payments were made for April, May or June.

We will start to pay the staff social fund payments again in July - because the government payments end in June.

Is there anyway to either:

1. Renew my long term extension (even though it has already expired, but I am on amnesty until the end of July) - on the basis that I still have a work permit, but I won't have social funds records for the staff for the last 3 months.

OR

2. Get a new 3 month non-immigrant B visa from immigration (without leaving the country) - on the basis that my staff

were furloughed?

TIA
