You can open a Bank account. It's not simple but it can be done. Find an agent and open with Bangkok Bank. Even without an agent some branches will open for you in exchange for a THB30L life insurance policy with their bank but most people eg Pattaya and Phuket are finding it can be done for between THB5K and THB12K inclusive of an insurance policy through the bank

I have been advised by reputable (real person 555) agent in Phuket that they can open a Bank account with Bangkok Bank and have my Australian Drivers licence converted. I am hoping she can do both car and Motorcycle for me. Bangkok Bank will absolutely open a bank account for DTV holder on a walk in basis in both Krabi and Aonang, BUT.... They ask for a THB30K life insurance policy to open the approval gate. The agent in Phuket has advised she can do it with a THB7K accident insurance policy

Please understand the following

Context: My first application was cancelled due to an incorrect Passpirt expiry date which the system auto uploaded and I did not correct

1. It is the FULL Responsibility of the applicant (you) to ensure all information provided is correct, any mistakes that cannot be cross referenced correctly will result in a cancelation

2. There is no communication process from applicant to embassy other than via the web portal, the only communication allowed is when you upload requested docs

3. This is is the system

Anonymous participant 179 yes you can edit it. The thing is, many of us doing the online application were not aware of this issue and simply expected the upload to be correct. The fields are editable and from experience you must ensure the data is correct or you application can be cancelled atbghe very end as mine was and there is no recourse, no refund and no communication from applicant to embassy, only communication is from them to the applicant and the docs you then have to upload if and when requested

Anonymous participant 179 on the E-Visa web portal, the first step is to upload a clear copy of your passport with the passport biometrics being the lines at the bottom of the passport. When this is uploaded the system reads it (sometimes incorrectly) eg my expiry is 2033, the system read it as 1933 ans placed 1933 into the data box
