TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, a DTVisa application can indeed be rejected over minor errors in personal information, such as misspellings in names or incorrect dates. Many users have shared experiences where their applications were denied due to such mistakes, leading to a loss of application fees and requiring resubmission. It is crucial to ensure that all details match exactly with one's passport, and applicants are advised to thoroughly check their entries before submission. Most embassies provide guidance, but it ultimately falls on the applicant to ensure accuracy.

It can be quite unclear what to put in the passport details field. Embassy in Denmark has a bit of a guide at least.

I wouldn’t call entering your name or passport number incorrectly a ā€˜minor error’

That is 100% true and many MANY people have gotten their application rejected because they did not carefully fill out the data entry portion

OR

they did not check the "auto-fill" portion when you scan the MRZ of the data page of your passport before submitting the application

I wish more embassies would post this on their webpages,

This is what it says when you go to the Thai Embassy in Tokyo and then click the eVisa link

Over YOUR minor errors, yes. Embassies don't have the time or resources to hold the hand of applicants who can't complete a application form

Are we able to speak to somebody from the embassy to give more clarity if we have doubts?

depend on the specific embassy/consulate.

But should not be necessary, its a very straightforward and clear process. There’s even step by step guides on the e-visa website and on embassy websites.

Obviously one should double check that the personal information matches your passport exactly.

Checking that first/middle/last name is in the correct field is just basic common sense…..

Yes, make sure you triple check everything! There shouldn't be any spelling mistakes in your name or anything.

Passport biodata errors are an immediate cancellation. Other documents that are missing will usually be requested. Insufficient documents after a request for further documents will result in rejection.

and I wouldn't call that a "minor error" as the op indicates. Getting your name or passport number wrong is a pretty big error in my mind

When you did not have to pay the fee again, your application was not rejected, they only asked for additioanal info, once rejected means application ended and you have to do new application.

it’s normal that they ask for additional documents or for the applicant to correct something, I wouldn’t call that a ā€œrejectionā€.

Yeah I think one of the common ones is assuming the auto input from your passport is correct and not checking it - mine was extremely wrong so inputted it manually

I Heard of how many mistakes were made so I input everything manually, I also do an individual who took screen shots of her info on Each Page to prove it was their system and she got her approval with that documentation.

You can't apply for DTV to/in Thailand. You have to apply via the embassy that handles the country or area where you are.
