Hi DTV journey peeps.

The requirement to provide proof of accomodation or a lease for 6 months accomodation as proof of residence in Thailand.

Can anyone provide what the requirement is as my understanding is that you require the visa before you can sign a lease.

Will a receipt for accomodation from a Hostel be acceptable?

Many thanks

Answer summary

The discussion revolves around the proof of accommodation required for visa applications in Thailand, particularly focusing on whether a lease for six months is necessary or if a hostel receipt would suffice. Comments suggest that the six-month lease requirement is uncommon and inquire about the specific visa application process.

That 6mths requirement is rare, Malaysia has it. Where are you applying?

ok, other KL applicants posted about providing 6mths accommodation evidence. Majority of embassies, intended place of stay is fine.

, if you know what dates you'll be moving, get a room in a guesthouse or homestay and give that address. Then you can do viewings of more permanent houses in person after arrival.
