You can if you are paying in cash and don't need a loan. If you need a loan then that's more complicated, you probably can't.

Entered Bangkok twice through DMK with just a one way ticket. No issues. Wasn't asked for a return flight.

The best way to find people's experiences in submitting for an application and getting granted the DTV is to do a search on this group, keywords: Vientiane, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, Laos or Myanmar. You already have a wealth of experience from a lot of people if you do a search. And no you don't have to go back to your home country. Good luck.

Anonymous participant thanks. That's odd, mine did indicate a violation unlike yours but we are of the same situation. Now I'm worried.

Anonymous participant thanks. Did the stamp look like this?

To clarify, are you asking if you can get a DTV through the language program or are you asking if you can enroll in the language program if you are already on the DTV? I think there are different responses to this.

Hi, thanks for sharing. Want to confirm that when I did this I wasn't asked to leave the country. I assume this is the case for you too? I found the stamp though a bit problematic. It didn't have any "Cancelled" stamp but just a stamp in Thai that when roughly translated says "the original visa has expired due to departure on (date), violating the permission conditions". Technically nothing was violated because there was a reentry permit but maybe that's the only way to cancel.

My questions:

1) Did you have an explicit "cancelled" stamp?

2) Did we have the same stamp which if you translate says "violation" and that should be okay and perhaps is the only way to do it if we did?

Did this and the school said that the enrollment to the course was related to the ED visa and was told that I can not attend anymore. Yes it doesn't make sense because the tuition goes to the school and it's something I can push harder on, didn't plan to though as I didn't plan to continue attending anymore.

Did #2 without agent and by following and researching a lot of posts in this group. Search Vientiane and you have a wealth of information. You can do it, I believe in you!
