, because according to what i have read and my own experience with a non B extension, there should be no need to leave the country to get an extention, just go to the local immigration office and get your extention until the date that your contract expires. This is not happening with all the diving companies though. It all depends on their company registration, how many Thai people vs foreigners work for the company and many other rules and regulations. Are their taxes up to date and it also depends on the immigration officer. This is the answers that i got last year. I told Alyssa about 3 weeks ago to just pop in at Phang Nga immigration with the 40 pages of paper that the company gave her and just take a chance and see if they won't extend it to the same date as her contract. Maybe she is lucky and the officer extends it there and then, then no need to leave the country and spend 10 000 baht to apply for another 90 day non B, flights, accommodation and food....... Keep the money in Thailand i say and let the scuba divers extend their Non B at the local immigration office, save time and money
Good luck, and if you come right at immigration please let Alyssa know. She leaves for Singapore on Christmas Day to do her next Non B application for the next 90 days.
, my daughter followed your advice and applied online to get her Non B in Singapore last week. They informed her that she can bring in her original forms and passport between the 14th and 16th Jan .She handed the forms in on Monday morning and collected the new Non B Tuesday afternoon
Thank you for all the good advice. You make it easy for all us with your knowledge.
A South African colleague went to KL to do her Non B a few days earlier and was told to come back in 45 days. She applied online with Singapore and she managed to get the Non B with my daughter yesterday. So your advice in KL for South Africans is also spot on.
Costly exercise this.....she was in Thailand in July and had to fly back to SA to get her Non B for this position and then flew back to Thailand again.....only to do it again after 3 months (this was not in our budget). Thanks once again for feedback. My daughter will discuss this with the company and hopefully they will come up with a solution that she can rather go to the local immigration because they both qualify for the criteria. Or am I hoping too much🤔
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions . We are South Africans and looking at previous posts on this forum re South Africans trying to get visas in Penang etc..... I am a little concerned that she picks up problems trying to get a new Non B.
My daughter is South African, and she did a border run to Burma at Mae Sai last month and had no problems even though she had the "dreaded writing on her original visa".
