TLDR : Answer Summary
A South African female is seeking advice about the validity of rumors claiming that South African passports are not accepted for border crossing into Myanmar as part of a visa run. She previously used the Myanmar border two months ago and was informed that she could not return there for a new visa exemption. Various comments reveal mixed experiences of other South Africans regarding border runs to Myanmar, confirming that some have successfully crossed without issues, while others suggest the possibility that current regulations may have changed.

It seems that the Phu Nam Ron border with Myanmar in Kanchanaburi province is the only one that is not letting S/A passport holders bounce out and back in at.

There's no reports from any of the other burma borders that allow bounces about S/A passport restrictions.

Yes I got that after a while .Todd

I will go on Sunday to Cambodia .

Ive used the SWD agents for more than 10 years so Im not a rookie in border runs.

It just took me a while to get the msg .

No SA passports to Mynmar border .

That answers my initial question .

Youve been super helpfull and I appreciate it .

Once again Thank You .

did you not read the comment from
@Amornrat *********
, on Friday the company ONLY goes to the Phu Nam Ron BURMA/MYANMAR border. That's the border S/A passport holders CANNOT bounce at.

They go to the Ban Laem border with Cambodia on Saturday and Sunday.

I'm thinking if you were down there today at 5 AM you aren't going anywhere.

My daughter is South African, and she did a border run to Burma at Mae Sai last month and had no problems even though she had the "dreaded writing on her original visa".

Okay, I called Claudio at swd transport and he said no South Africans cannot bounce out and back in at the Phu Nam Ron border with Burma but they can at the Ban Laem border with Cambodia (the other border his company goes to)

How about calling Claudio at SWD Transport and asking him if South African passport holders can bounce out and in at the Phu Nam Ron border with Burma?

Well it seems lots of people do not understand the question. She want to go to a border stamp out Thailand, stamp in/out neighbor country and back into Thailand for a new 30 day Visa Exempt Entry. So she do not need papers for a Non Immigrant B visa from her school, it does not matter which Visa she has in passport and it even does not matter that she used to be a teacher back in S/A.
@Maggie *********
You can do the same border run as you did before, unless that was your second border run this calendar year. As S/A you can only make two border runs a calendar year.

I'm from RSA. I've done 3 border runs to Mae Sai. Two last year. Haven't had a problem. Obviously the rules can change. I've heard that Thailand won't let you out if Myanmar won't accept you. Also, isn't it the case that you don't get a visa for Myanmar, just a day pass?

She already did a border run to Myanmar, so it seems they accept South Africans.

What kind of Visa are you doing and it depends on which consulate your school prepares your paperwork for if you are going for a Non B for teaching
