I told my wife that Dutch singles get more government retirement pay than married persons… She looked at me with big eyes and I added “So cook mai phet and I won’t need to kill you for 200 monthly euro more”. We had a good laugh about it. 🤣

I think you (both) got it right - with the “I will stay in a hotel in Bangkok”.

Can anyone recommend an agency which can provide assistance to get the bank account (in Bangkok)?

I’ve seen the website of Siam Legal, but they don’t provide assistance to open an account in Bangkok.

Chicken and egg. Which was first?

In the new ruling, you can not get a bank account without a non-O visa or work permit. And you can not get a non-O in Thailand without the bank account.

Circles, circles, circles. Hence I search a financial service company which can assist me opening the bank account.
