Under Thai law, the estate is shared equally by the surviving immediate family members. It will also take a long time to settle the estate if someone dies without a valid will as the estate must be settled through the courts. Please advise all your family and friends to make a valid Thai will (my Australian will does not cover assets (car, motor bike, money in my Thai bank) I own in Thailand.

That rule went away when the Visa Exempt stamp went to 60 days. If you are not a tourist be prepared to be denied entry on Visa Exempt.
Paul *******
If you get the 60 day visa exempt stamp and extend by a further 30 days at the Immigration office, Immigration class you as a tourist. If you then attempt to enter again on a visa exempt stamp, Immigration rightly consider that after on 90 day stay in the country that you are no longer a tourist but that you are attempting to live long term in the country. While there is no legal limit to the number of Visa exempt entries, once the Immigration officer believes that you are no longer visiting the country as a tourist he will deny you entry. 3. If you have already stayed for 90 days on a visa exempt entry, then in future to guarantee entry into Thailand, you need to obtain a long term visa suitable to the reason for your stay.

Chiang Mai has a Drive through / walk through 90 day report system. Normally only takes about 5 minutes.

Incorrect. What happens depends on your wifes will and your will.

There is no limit on the number of border runs. But if you have already had a 60 day visa exempt entry and a 30 day extention, Immigration will consider any further entry is an indication that you are no longer a tourist and are attempting to stay long term and may deny you entry.

Yes. But Immigration is still clamping down. They believe that more than one 60 day entry plus a 30 day extension is not being a tourist.
