I have been for the last 17 months been doing this through Bangkok, as mentioned in the post. You are correct, here they have allowed 45 days prior to the current extension expiring, getting an additional one added. Where the added 60 days was taken as added to the current expiry date. So 2 things apparently have changed, they now suggest the application can only be made 7-14 days prior to current expiry, further to that the new 60 days commence from the new application date.

, I appreciate your feedback. Guess we will see what lucky straw is pulled tomorrow, to determine the new rules or orders moving forward.

Think most people realize finally, none of any of these actions over the last 2 years has been based on actual "science"!

Too many people🐑🐑 happy to follow an opinion of a "scientist", that you are not permitted to question, or request something that could resemble evidence to their opinion!

I will look into your suggestion in relation to the Chinese Embassy, and a letter of support. I can show clearly no flights are commercially available with screenshots for travel to China.

I went to Bangkok Immigration (near Impact Arena) on Wednesday. I have been trapped here since March 2020, done multiple Covid Extensions, so I understand the process.

The last one was done after the change in Rules on 25th January, so the fact I got the extension then, should mean the application is based on the same conditions now. I went knowing that in all likelihood new rules could change after tomorrow, 25th March.

When I got there all the documents to fill out had been left in the form filling room. I thought it was at the time strange they had lots of all the forms, but there were only 3 forms.

Filled all in and waited in line realizing they would say one of the documents was missing, but assumed everyone would have told them that. The form that was missing was the Affidavit for Covid. They were then only issuing that to people they felt complied with "their" version of the rules.

My current extension expires on the 24th of April, the rules always have been that we could renew 45 days prior to the current expiry. I have always done this early including the last visa.

They now tried telling me I could not apply for the new extension until 7-14 days prior to the current expiry. I at the time could not find copies of the last announcement, and they just kept repeating the same thing.

I did ask to see a supervisor but clearly was not forceful enough, as the best I got was a badged police officer that just parroted what the immigration official was saying.

In any event, they were treating many farangs I observed very poorly. My belief is the extension will be renewed for another few months at least, in any event.

I am seeking to travel to China to rejoin my wife, there are no flights to anywhere in China commercially for the next 2 months, from my checking.

Not sure whether to waste another day tomorrow going back and being a little more persuasive, or just roll the dice on a further extension of current conditions!

Any suggestions? I still can not lay my hands on the last orders (Royal Gazette) from January stating that renewal of the extensions could be done 45 days prior to the current expiry.

you can not extend an APEC card in country. You would need to leave Thailand and re-enter for that. The only option I am aware of to do within Thailand, is the emergency Covid extension 60 day Visa.

I arrived on an APEC entry March 2020. Since then I got the 30 day extension for covid, then since that I have received about 8 Covid 60 day extensions based on inability to travel. The most recent one done in Bangkok about 2 weeks ago.

just check, as a result of the “flu” many countries have changed requirements in relation to visa’s. A number of countries now do not accept APEC cards as the automatic visa they were intended to be. Let hope this circus is over sooner than later....

on entry to Thailand with an APEC card you get a 90 day visa. The problem being that they do not in these circumstance allow the use of the card for extensions, as it is only valid on entry/exit.

UPDATE: I regularly checking with this group to source reliable advice
@Gar****
appreciate the efforts. Unfortunately you still seem to have some know it all, numpties like
@Darren ******
That either has no idea or is happy to spread misinformation. I went to Bangkok Temporary Immigration near Impact Stadium yesterday. There are no checks on Convid passports or vaccination status. Anyway end result I got under the new changed/updates on the Covid Emergency extension visas a further 60 days. They did tell me that it would be the last time, but they have told me that same thing for most of the previous 7 Covid extensions I have received.

Thanks everyone for the comment and suggestions. As mentioned I have no intention of returning to Australia, to have some clown then tell me I can not leave again. Let alone the 14 day quarantine that we are forced to pay if we return. I understand APEC cards are maybe not a commonly used or understood business visa issued allowing visas into about 20 countries from a business perspective. I understand that many visas are now being forced to change to volunteer, ED, retirement, etc... I was hoping with item 10 that is from trip.com website that APEC cards were viewed in this manner. Anyone with specific experience with APEC cards?
