Does arrival on an APEC card fall under the visa exempt arrival classification in relation to the Covid extensions now? If you do not know what an APEC card is there is probably no need to comment.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses whether arriving in Thailand with an APEC card qualifies for visa-exempt arrival status under the current Covid-19 extension rules. Although one commenter stated that it does not fall under the visa-exempt classification, another shared their experience of receiving a 60-day extension at immigration, despite concerns over misinformation within the community.

appreciate the efforts. Unfortunately you still seem to have some know it all, numpties like

That either has no idea or is happy to spread misinformation. I went to Bangkok Temporary Immigration near Impact Stadium yesterday. There are no checks on Convid passports or vaccination status. Anyway end result I got under the new changed/updates on the Covid Emergency extension visas a further 60 days. They did tell me that it would be the last time, but they have told me that same thing for most of the previous 7 Covid extensions I have received.

Calm down Paul. I saw your question but didn't answer because I honestly wasn't sure. What I do know though is the APEC entry regulations differ depending on nationality. As a USA passport holder, the APEC card does nothing for me other than let me use the APEC/diplomatic/priority immigration lane, so it would be a 30 day visa exempt entry for me.

Other nationalities however do get special entry stamps, I believe 90 days. I think they're still classed as visa exempt entries, but again not sure enough to answer your question.

you got lucky, a friend of mine got rejected last week on an APEC card. So, hardly bad advice ya muppet.

I am also interested. I would normally get 30 days when I arrive (Aussie, so no visa required), however I plan to present my APEC card to see if the Immigration Officer gives me 60 days (🤞).

Update - I arrived BKK a few days ago, from HKG (I’m an Australian citizen, so visa exempt). At the Immigration desk, I handed over my APEC card, and received a 90 day stamp in my passport.

on entry to Thailand with an APEC card you get a 90 day visa. The problem being that they do not in these circumstance allow the use of the card for extensions, as it is only valid on entry/exit.

If I can get 90 days when I first arrive, that’s all I need this trip.

just check, as a result of the “flu” many countries have changed requirements in relation to visa’s. A number of countries now do not accept APEC cards as the automatic visa they were intended to be. Let hope this circus is over sooner than later....
