You could sign up for school yourself. Studying.

There are cheap bachelors out there, in Thailand, that will get you a visa for the duration. Up to 6 years. Half year at a time.

Or sign up to learn thai.

if you are married to a Thai national, you can skip the permanent residency part entirely, which is the costly part.

nope. Permanent residency will cost a total of around 200K all in. Citizenship application cost 5K. So with all the fees for legalizing documents etc, 10K sounds about right for that.

Look at your license. It will say when it expires exactly. For the bank account as long as there are occasional transactions to or from it, to keep it active, you can keep that as long as you want to.

when you are already on yearly extension you can change the reason from for example based on marriage to being based on being over 50.

What you cannot do is change the reason for the first year extension. The first one *must* be for the same reason the original 90 day non o was granted.

from my experience, if with a thai, you can both use the Thai line at that crossing. Used it many times in the past. Used the Thai line with first Thai GF, later with Thai wife. Also once used it alone as there were 0 queue on that, and many foreigner queueing up, so they sent some to the Thai line.
