I don't know which one the OP is referring to, but when I stayed in Khon Kaen for a while and extended there they wanted to see my lease. It was only a six month lease, but they accepted it. Some offices are more anal than others. A buddy of mine was staying long term at a hotel and they accepted a letter from the hotel detailing the arrangement

Who cares? We live in a "it's all about me" society these days. The guys who have paid bribes for years to get their retirement visas are continually excused. Now we have Muay Thai operators offering the same as what scamming agents have done for years, just in different clothes. It's all the same. It's corruption, but hey, who really cares?

You never leave Thailand so the DTV isn't a fit for you. For other retirees it most certainly is

Agree 💯%. I'll be switching from non-O retirement to DTV early next year. I'm in and out of Thailand several times a year. Financially the DTV is cheaper and the HUGE bonus, is no trips to immigration every year with 15,000 documents to prove I'm worthy of another year!

Skip the agent and get the DTV for five years

I don't know which country you're from, but in Australia, the police check is done online, there's no requirement to attend anywhere in person
