Hi all, I have was given great advice in the past from this group so I have another question. I am currently in Bangkok near Phrom Phong and want to extend my visa 30 days. I am having trouble finding a government immigration office somewhat near me. All I see are 3rd party offices and immigration lawyers. Can anyone please tell me where I can find a Government immigration office?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking help to find a government immigration office in Bangkok to extend their visa by 30 days. They are currently located near Phrom Phong and have noted difficulty in locating an official government office, encountering mainly third-party services instead. The responses provide guidance on where to go based on the type of entry visa, such as the IT Square Laksi Plaza for visa-exempt entries and Chaengwattana for those with a tourist visa.

This is a classic case of why you need forums like this to tell you specifics rather than rely on Google. Google will happily tell you where the 80+ offices are located but doesn’t specify what office to use if you’re in Bangkok.

If you entered on an actual tourist visa which you applied for and got before you travelled to Thailand and were stamped in for 60 days, you will go to the Chaengwattna office Immigration office, Government Complex Building B.

You will go here.

And you can book online

If you enter on a 60-day stamp for free, it is NOT a tourist visa, it is a visa-exempt entry if you are eligible to apply for a 30-day tourism extension.

You are going to go to the IT Square Laksi Plaza temporary office, just next to Lak Si station of SRT Dark Red Line / MRT Pink Line.

You will go here.

In Bangkok if you entered visa exempt for 60 days then you go to IT Square, Laksi Plaza, 3rd floor, Counter K.

If you bought a visa prior to coming to Thailand then you go to the main government complex at Chaengwattana. Counter J.

thanks. All this information is very helpful. 1 follow up question, at what point can I do this? In other words my 60 day stamp expires in middle of March. Can I extend now or do I need to wait until it’s closer to March?

They add on the days so there is no downside to going early.
