What happen to DTV holders after half a year if they wish to stay in Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) holders can extend their stay for an additional six months by applying at an immigration office, but this can only be done once per entry. To do so, they must provide the same documentation used in their initial application, along with proof of sufficient funds. After the extension, holders are required to leave Thailand and can only return for another extension, allowing for a maximum stay of 360 days per entry.

Extension is available once per entry, At the end of the extension you must leave, and re-enter if you wish. You are allowed any number of entries up until the expiry date of the visa. So, the longest you can actually stay is 360 days without leaving.

can only do 1 extension.

If you want to reside in Thailand, this is not the visa to go for unless you also intend to travel internationally

You can extend once at an immigration office, by providing the same documents as you did for application. When the extension finishes after 180 days, you must leave the country and re-enter for another 180 days
