not forgetting that if the account holder (farang) happens to meet his end god forbid he will most probably have no legally recognised will in Thailand-so who gets the money in the bank account… Yep you guessed it !! 🤔

I agree all these changes means is people who have a regular income but not the 400k in a Thai bank are penalised the most. My monthly income is more than adequate to provide for our family but I invested in a house as opposed to keeping money in a Thai bank 😡

Interesting as I have been transferring that amount every month for the last 12 months by Wise to my Bangkok Bank

I will check their websites and see if we can still do

Btw how long ago did you do this at Malaysia or Vietnam?
